What File N’ Task stores
You can sign in with a verified email link or Google. We store your name, email address, and Google account identifier when you use Google. We store your uploaded files, messages, workspace membership, tasks, and delivery records to provide the service. We do not request access to your Gmail or Google Drive.
Who can see your work
Anyone holding a transfer link can request its files until it expires or is revoked. Password-encrypted file contents also require the sender’s password to decrypt. Workspace content is available to its members. Direct messages and their attachments are available only to their participants. Every workspace member can invite others.
Files and retention
Public transfer links expire after seven days. Expired transfer files are removed by the scheduled cleanup process. Workspace files stay available while stored in your workspace. Contact the service operator to request account or workspace data removal.
Password encryption
Password encryption is available for public file transfers.
When enabled for a browser upload, file contents are encrypted on your device before upload and decrypted on the recipient’s device. We do not receive the password or encryption key and cannot recover a forgotten password. Use a strong, unique passphrase and share it separately. Filenames, sizes, messages, and membership details remain visible. Existing uploads and email attachments are not automatically encrypted.
This protects stored contents if storage or database records are stolen. It cannot protect against a compromised device or malicious website code capturing a password while you use it.
One-time downloads
If the sender selects delete after download, each file is removed from active server storage after the recipient’s browser confirms receipt and successful decryption when applicable. We cannot verify that the browser saved it to disk. Interrupted downloads and incorrect passwords do not trigger removal. A browser that closes before confirmation may leave the file available until expiry. Copies already downloaded or retained in external backups are outside this deletion process.
Invitations and membership notices are sent immediately. Unread conversations and shared files are summarized at most once every three hours. Replies and attachments sent to a conversation’s reply address become part of that conversation. Email is processed by the configured mail provider.
Optional analytics and ad measurement
With your permission, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits to public information pages and completed account registrations. You can also choose optional Google Ads measurement to help us understand which ads lead to signups. Both stay off until you accept, and you can withdraw permission through Analytics preferences. Measurement runs only on public information pages and the account-ready page, never in workspaces, private file links, or sign-in forms. We do not send file contents, filenames, messages, or email addresses. With ad measurement enabled, ad-click identifiers may be used for attribution; other URL query parameters are excluded. Advertising personalization is disabled.
Responsible use
Only share files you have permission to distribute. Do not upload malware, illegal material, or content that violates others’ rights. Keep private transfer links secure. Storage limits and availability may change; keep a backup of important work.

Backups, file loss, and limitation of liability
You are responsible for keeping your own independent backups of all files and content you upload or share. Do not use File N’ Task as your only copy or backup. We do not guarantee that files or content will always be available or recoverable.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, File N’ Task and its operator are not liable for any loss of files or data, or for any damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or related to the service, regardless of the cause. Use at your own risk.
